Champagne bottle cover
A very special colleague was leaving the organisation. She had a penchant for the bubbly stuff and a genuine voluntary appreciation of my knitted goods. It didn't take me long to work out what to give her (though finalising the design was a little more tricky - see the pink and purple mess in "Techniques, samples and experiments" further down this page).
I should say that my inspiration came from Vogue Knitting's specimen but I didn't copy it. Copying is wrong. Everybody knows that.
As an added bonus, this project was the catalyst for teaching myself cable. I can't believe I waited so long. Cable looks stunning, is much easier than you'd think and a real hoot to create. Go get yourself a kinky needle!
